Silverstone 24

Jake race report

JLMotorsport competed in the 2017 24H of Silverstone, driving as part of a 4 man team in a BMW M235i Cup car run by Belgian outfit JJ Motorsport. After only a days testing, the drivers prepared themselves for the long race ahead. Leyton Clarke of RMA Trackdays was the man to take the wheel for Qualifying ending in 2nd, setting a time only 0.344s slower than the QSR car in P1.

Leyton was the man to start the car, with our very own James Little being the next man in the car. James brought the car back in 1st place after his stint and handed over to Jason Baker who passed the car on to Tony Rodriguez afterwards.

After a rollercoaster of a race, including two collisions for Leyton with cars from other classes, a broken wheel bearing allowed both the 2nd and 3rd place cars to pass us whilst the car was in the pits, and so after 24 long hours of racing we finished in 3rd place in class and 11th place overall. A very respectable result after starting in 24th place overall!
